The California Association of Food Banks (CAFB) supports 41 member food banks serving roughly 6 million Californians monthly. In 2024 its Farm to Family programme distributed 274 million pounds of food in partnership with 103 farmers. Key advocacy wins included securing $146.8m in SUN Bucks funding for 5 million children and preventing $30bn in SNAP cuts. CalFresh outreach helped 28,000 households apply and 4,200+ retain benefits.
