Our Impact 2025 - 2026 (Impact Report 2025-26)

The Happold Foundation's Impact Report 2025-26, published in its 30th anniversary year, sets out how the charity uses engineering to improve people's lives in the UK and around the world through its three focus areas: Education, Human Development and Thinking. During 2025–26, Primary Engineer's engineering education programmes reached more than 100,000 pupils across the UK. During 2025, Build It International supported 289 trainees - 106 women and 183 men - to complete construction skills training in Zambia, and Action on Poverty supported 40 farming communities in Kailahun, Sierra Leone, reaching more than 1,300 families. The report also covers the University of Bath Ted Happold Prize, inclusive design training with the National Register of Access Consultants (NRAC), and the Foundation's unrestricted core funding grants of up to £30,000 per year for 1 to 4 years.

About

The Happold Foundation (registered charity 1050814) was set up in 1995 by Ted Happold and his fellow Buro Happold Partners to encourage the brightest minds to join the built environment profession. It partners with not-for-profit organisations that share its belief in the power of engineering to improve lives, funding work across three focus areas: Education (investing in the young people who will shape the future of the built environment), Human Development (supporting marginalised communities) and Thinking (exploring how engineering can respond to challenges such as urbanisation, resource scarcity and climate change). It is based at The Featherstone Building, 66 City Road, London.
