The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea around the UK and Ireland, operating through volunteer lifeboat crews, beach lifeguards, and water safety education. In 2023 lifeboat crews launched 9,192 times, aided an average of 29 people a day, and saved 355 lives with lifeguards patrolling 239 UK and Channel Island beaches. The charity is fully funded by public donations and legacies, with 66% of net income from gifts in Wills.
