Leadership Skills Foundation Impact Report 2024-25

The Leadership Skills Foundation helps young people develop essential leadership and employability skills through sport and physical activity programmes such as Sports Leaders and PlayMaker. Its Impact Report for August 2024 to July 2025 records 2,315 young people qualifying as Sports Leaders through its Sport Wales partnership alone, generating over 16,322 hours of volunteering.

The Leadership Skills Foundation is a UK charity and the home of Sports Leaders, PlayMaker and other accredited awards that help young people build leadership, confidence and employability skills through sport and physical activity. It marked 20 years of Sports Leaders in 2025 and is a System Partner with Sport England.

Key Metrics

Sports Leaders qualified in Wales 2,315 young people qualified as Sports Leaders through the Sport Wales partnership, generating over 16,322 hours of volunteering.
PlayMaker participants Over 6,200 young people from every local school in Monmouthshire have taken part in the PlayMaker award over seven years, with 737 learners completing in 2024-25 alone.
